Institute of Fundamental Technological Research
Institute of Fundamental Technological Research (IPPT) is the largest research institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, with a long tradition in developing fundamental theoretical and experimental research. The multidisciplinary area of activities covers mechanics, information technology, mechatronics, biomaterials, and polymers nanomaterial applications in medicine. The recognized achievements allow IPPT to be granted the HR Excellence in Research Award by the European Commission. Moreover, IPPT was awarded the highest category A+, thus maintaining its highest standards of scientific activity. IPPT is located at the academic biomedical center called Kampus Ochota, and it is a member of BioCentrum Ochota organized to support multidisciplinary biomedical research jointly with five neighborhood institutes. The Department of Biosystems and Soft Matter started its activities a few years ago, thanks to the contribution of several groups working jointly with material scientists, biologists, and medical doctors. The department activities span from mathematical modeling to the biomedical application of nanomaterials.
Donghua University
Donghua University, formerly China Textile University, was established in 1951. Donghua University is a multi-disciplinary institution, and its feature disciplines, including Textile Engineering, Material Science, Fashion Design, and Information Technology, have received a high reputation both domestically and abroad. Textile Science & Engineering, the state-key discipline, ranks No. 1 in the Assessment of First-level Discipline announced by China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center. Donghua University includes the State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials, the Key Laboratory of High-Performance Fiber and Product, Ministry of Education and Engineering Research Center of Advanced Glass Manufacturing Technology, Ministry of Education. In addition, the Scientific and Technological Innovation Network of Biomedical Textile Material has been established to specialize in the research on medical applications of fiber and fabric at the Donghua University.
